Abstract

Ventricular septal defect (VSD) is the most common (approximately 20%) congenital heart disease. About 70% of these defects are perimembranous, involving the membranous septum and the adjacent area of muscular septum. Since 2002 Amplatzer Membranous VSD Occluder devices are being used to close these defects. But the experience of using these devices by most operators were very limited. So we started using Cocoon Ductal Occluder devices with good results.
