Abstract

Exposure to cockroach allergen can lead to allergic sensitization and an increased risk of asthma. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Recent studies have suggested that aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) can modulate cockroach allergen-induced immune responses and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) were increased after allergen challenge in mouse asthmatic models. We sought to determine whether AhR regulates cockroach allergen induced lung inflammation by controlling the recruitment and function of MSCs.
