In Cavriago, a town of 8000 inhabitants in the province of Reggio Emilia, there is a square named to Lenin with a bust of the Soviet leader in the middle. In the article, I reconstruct the history of this monument, inserting the story within the framework of the process of eliminating communist symbols in the ex-Soviet area and the recent Black Lives Matter campaign.
