Abstract

Legionnaires’ soldiers came from various groups and social strata: next to the peasants and workers in the Polish Legions, there were academic professors and people of the pen. There were many talented painters and sculptors among them, who left behind medals and commemorative badges. They worked for the Legions with their talents and skills in the Central Publishing Bureau as part of the Supreme National Committee. Among them, we should distinguish such people as: J. Bukowski, J. Wilk, A. Procajlowicz, K. Witkiewicz, S. Filipkiewicz, R. Lewandowski, J. Wysocki and many others. There are still works showing the era of the Great War, whose centennial is celebrated in the following years.
