Abstract

AbstractPotassium uptake from biotites by subterranean clover decreased as the proportion of oxidized Fe in octahedral sites increased. The relative availability of K from sequentially oxidized biotites may be predicted by sodium tetraphenylboron extraction. No major changes in mica structure due to removal of interlayer K by plants were detected.
