Abstract

Nowadays, medicine is following an exponential curve in scientific knowledge, but things are not very optimistic from the perspective of patients because many diseases are discovered too late by doctors. Over time, the predictions have proven to be very important and useful in various fields such as medicine, industry, politics, marketing. Therefore, this paper describes an artificial neural network that can help doctors in predicting coronary heart disease using the symptomatic information and laboratory analysis of patients. At the end of this study, the accuracy of the neural network (84.73%) proves that it can be a reliable tool, able to support the physician’s decisions. The implementation of the neural network was performed in the Matlab platform using Neural Networks Toolbox and Matlab language.
