Key summary pointsAimArtificial intelligent patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (Ai-PCIA) has been used in clinical anesthesia practice in recent years. We aim to evaluate the effect of Ai-PCIA in older patients after laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer.FindingsAi-PCIA improves the analgesic effect of older patients after laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer, improve sleep quality, and improve the early postoperative outcome of older patients.MessageAi-PCIA may be approperiate and promoted for clinical posoperative care in older patients after laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer.
