Abstract

This paper provides an overview of the relationship between artificial intelligence, peace, and security, in particular, the challenge ahead, taking into account the hypothesis that lethal autonomous weapons systems are being established in the not too distant future, AI defense technology will continue to progress, faster than ever, more accustomed to reaping the benefits of technological advancements in the civilian sphere in their daily lives. Against the context of the strategic influence of artificial intelligence ( AI) in global politics and international relations, the paper analyses the issue of lethal autonomous weapons systems, which could be able to carry out missions autonomously, select targets and use force without human interference in the future, if they were actually created.
