It allows producing intricate shapes with fewer materials than conventional manufacturing methods. Both these technologies in themselves can have and are having an enormous blow on existing production system. As the world come into a new era of global crisis with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) continuing to disrupt supply chains resulting in scarcity of necessary medicinal tools and equipment, the 3DP community along with AI can potentially help in stepping out of this pandemic. This study intends to recognize what opportunities subsist when these two innovative technologies are combined and how it can help in saving lives during this crisis. At present one of the major concerning issues is the scarcity of available test kits for COVID-19. It is a terrifying time for the hospitals working on the front lines. Hospitals had been overwhelmed by way of the large range of sufferers and shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). PPE incorporates face-masks, face shields, gloves and clothing. In addition to this, the medicinal world is facing a scarcity of COVID-19 testing swabs and kits, respirators and ventilators.
