Abstract
The strategic planning function is in a crisis situation. The most important charges that are made against planning have been foreseen by strategy scholars who have suggested precautions against the pitfalls which can cause them. These approaches however do not protect planning from negative attitudes. Studies of these attitudes are available from the field of Value Theory, but no practical recommendations have yet been made. When their conclusions are restudied from the point of view of Artificial Intelligence recommendations can be offered which are immediately practical as they can be translated into hardware and software systems to support the strategic planning function. The description of a basic software programme on Organizational Artificial Intelligence (OAI) is provided.
