Abstract

AbstractThe articular manifestations noted in three patients with proven functioning parathyroid adenomas are presented. The joint symptoms, physical findings and radiographic abnormalities described illustrate the diversity of lesions associated with hyperparathyroidism. The relationship of subperiosteal bone resorption near articular surfaces, periarticular and synovial calcification and calcification of articular cartilage to the patient's joint symptoms is discussed.
