Abstract
Approaches targeting the DNA of microorganisms found within a range of sample types are being investigated with growing frequency for their suitability as tools for forensic science. Allwood et al. (e01504-19) discuss the status of such work. They focus on the potential to use DNA-based approaches targeting microorganism DNA to link samples to place of origin and to link people to places and objects.
