Abstract

Objectives: To analyze the content (what) and process (how) of traumatic brain injury (TBI) rehabilitation from a learning and teaching perspective; and to derive definitions of therapy content and process based on observable therapist and patient behaviors. Design: Participatory action research model using literature search, brainstorming, consensus building, and task analysis; triangulation through field observations, focus groups, and video recordings of >100 therapy sessions. Setting: Inpatient and outpatient TBI rehabilitation program.
