Abstract

Fractures of the intercondylar eminence of tibia are common in children. The anterior cruciate ligament is attached to the medial tibial spine and, hence, displaced medial spine fractures can result in cruciate ligament laxity. Treatment of these fractures is directed towards fixation of the avulsed tibial spine. The goal of treatment is restoration of joint congruity and cruciate integrity. We describe here our technique of arthroscopic internal fixation of avulsed tibial spine fractures in three cases. We found this technique very useful in dealing with these fractures.
