Abstract

In 1953, Seldinger first described a technique for percutaneouscannulation of a blood vessels. This was achieved by placing aguide wire through a hollow needle; the blood vessel lumen wasthen accessed along the guide wire. We believe that end cappingof intramedullary nails can be reliably achieved using a combi-nation of our described ‘Seldinger’ technique using a guide wireand trocar and conventional image intensification.
