Abstract

IntroductionThe co-occurrence of the tibial eminence avulsion fracture with depression of the tibial plateau is a rare knee joint trauma case. Therefore, concurrent management using a minimally invasive technique, such as arthroscopic reduction and internal fixation, poses a challenge to restore both sites of injury. Presentation of caseA young female patient with painful right knee and inability to walk was diagnosed with tibial eminence avulsion fracture co-occurs with depression of the tibial plateau. We performed arthroscopic reduction and internal fixation using transosseous suture through the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). In addition, we combined screws fixation for tibial eminence avulsion and percutaneous screws fixation for depression tibial plateau fracture. Postoperative assessment based on International Knee Documentation Committee and Tegner-Lysholm scores revealed clinical improvement, and the patient returned to daily routine activities without pain and stiffness. ConclusionArthroscopic reduction and internal fixation is a minimally invasive approach for tibial eminence avulsion fracture with depression tibial plateau involvement that provides an excellent outcome in this case.
