Abstract

Native arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is the recommended first line vascular access in patients undergoing hemodialysis. For other chronic pathologies requiring a long-term vascular access, central venous catheters are used the most. The aim of this study was to evaluate the mid-term results of arteriovenous fistulas used as chronic vascular accesses in patients not undergoing dialysis.
