Abstract

Dr Drouven and coauthors1 have tackled the ever-increasing issue of dialysis access in octogenarians and older patients. As the dialysis access population ages—and the very elderly are the fastest growing group of incident dialysis patients—this topic is one that directly affects the decision-making of vascular surgeons. During the past decade, there have been several studies that can give a background to this current work.
