Abstract

Various methods for demonstrating the vertebral artery throughout its course have been assessed, with particular reference to percutaneous retrograde subclavian injection. A method of retrograde percutaneous subclavian injection is described. The value of this method in demonstrating the extracranial course of the vertebral artery is stressed. Possible applications of the method in demonstrating the intracranial course of the vertebral artery are discussed.
