Abstract

The occurrence of arterial thrombosis in a patient with chronic aregenerative thrombocytopenia is reported. Because of the severity of the thrombocytopenia, surgery and the induction of a systemic fibrinolytic state were thought to be contraindicated, and the patient was successfully treated with a prolonged low–dose intra–arterial infusion of streptokinase.
