Abstract

The randomized ARTEMIS study demonstrates that adding the VEGF inhibitor bevacizumab to the EGFR inhibitor erlotinib improves progression-free survival in EGFR mutant non-small-cell lung cancer by more than 6months, with even greater benefits seen in patients with brain metastases and EGFR L858R mutation. This provides further evidence for the tailored use of VEGF/EGFR combinations.
