Abstract

AbstractExisting music‐color synesthesia projects fundamentally focus on musical pitch and color, but seldom touch on music structure. This article proposes a systematic color visualization method of visual language based on music‐color synesthesia. Not only does it involve pitch‐color with timbres of various instruments but also adopts musical elements (even structures) in plastic units of color composition. The author established a metaphorical language of musical color based on the synesthesia theory. Quantizing‐oriented as this language is, generative art and interactive system of color can be developed. It could also be applied in visualized music education and as a synesthetic performance aid.
