Abstract

The article raises the issue of generalization and systematization of means of expression used by artists to create works of modern ceramics. It is argued that modern ceramic art in Ukraine demonstrates a wide range of experiments with materials, textures, various approaches to the processes of shaping, decorating, and firing to create unique effects on the surface of the work. The art language of some contemporary Ukrainian artists is considered in the context of connections with traditions on the one hand and the search for new means of expression to visualize the author's idea — on the other. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of artists' works: Nelli Isupova, Leonid Boginsky, Mykola Telizhenko, Volodymyr Shapovalov.
