Abstract
This article aims to identify the presence of the Art-Deco style in the architecture of Brazilian railway stations, taking as a reference images of buildings of this type that belonged to different railway companies. Such reflection demonstrates, among other issues, that the aforementioned language, at a given moment, presented a certain frequency in different railway companies and thus characterized the features of a typology that, directly, was associated with the machine, a reference for the style Art Deco. By focusing on this theme, the text does not aim to exhaust it. On the contrary, it seeks to open the way for a discussion that has yet to take shape and to elucidate several points that, in this sense, need to be clarified.
