Abstract

Rebellion in the ranks of the perceptual psychologists of the 1950's is finally having its repercussions in the art world. New perceptual theories, based on Dewey's Transactionalism and the more recent experiments of Franklin Kilpatrick and F.H. Allport (see footnotes 10 and 11) have invaded the thinking of artists and critics.
