Abstract

In this short report, we analyze the importance of art as communication for scientific discoveries in the field of cardiovascular physiology and more specifically in understanding the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis. We found that artistic drawings had a great importance for the diffusion of new discoveries among scientists. No matter how important the new discoveries were, they were poorly diffused and accepted if well-done drawings were not present. Artistic drawings attracted the attention of the scientific community.
