Abstract
PSO algorithm is intensively applied in array pattern synthesis. While the choice of inertia factor in classical PSO algorithm is a cumbersome task, improper inertia factor will result in slow convergence or falling into the local minima. This paper presents an improved algorithm based on LDW-PSO to avoid converging to the local minima. Simulation results show that the algorithm has faster speed and higher robustness compared with LDW-PSO algorithm.
