Abstract
By virtue of a semiclassical adiabatic invariant in this paper, we quantize the horizon area of a Kerr-Newman black hole by making use of the period of the gravity system. We exploit exclusively the basic properties of the adiabatic invariant. It is found that the result produced by our method is consistent with the one obtained by calculating the adiabatic invariant step by step.
