Abstract

When designing electrical installations in an industry that processes flammable products, it is necessary to know where the classified locations are. These locations are identified in drawings to direct the specification of adequate electrical and electronic equipment. This article shows why the figures' copy-and-paste practice does not guarantee a cost-effective installation. It also presents comparisons between gas dispersion models, aiming to help professionals perform reliable hazardous area-classification studies.
