Abstract

During my 3-hour drive home that evening, I realized that it is imperative that my business partner and I become more knowledgeable about the CMS star ratings. We must reevaluate our practice to see how we are performing day to day in providing quality care to patients. We must implement new practice initiatives to improve those performance measures on which our practice may be evaluated. When I returned home, I went to the CMS website and reviewed the star rating information. I also downloaded a document that discussed the proposed methodology for 2014 star ratings.1
