Abstract

There is conflicting evidence of the relationship between refractive error and personality traits, somatotype, gender and many other factors. In this study empirical data were used to investigate the relationship in the case of a number of Jungian personality types as well as in relation to differences in somatotype and socio-economic standing. While some significant relationships were found, they were not consistently in accordance with those reported in the literature. It is suggested that the relationships, although statistically significant, may be applicable only to a discrete population segment.
