Abstract
Evidence-based answer Compared with low-fat/high-carbohydrate (conventional) diets, lowcarbohydrate/high-protein (LC/HP) diets are at least as effective in reducing weight and blood pressure with limited side effects and no severe adverse events. Triglyceride reduction and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) elevation appear to be superior to conventional diets (SOR: C, diseaseoriented outcomes from systematic review of RCTs and consistent RCT).
