Abstract

In Reply.— We have reviewed the records of our patients who died in the nontreated granulocyte septic newborn group and have not found an increased I/T ratio, suggesting that these patients went on to NSP depletion prior to their deaths. Although we did not do repeat bone marrow evaluations on the four patients who died, judging from their peripheral complete blood cell counts and I/T ratios, we find no suggestion that they went on to NSP depletion.
