Abstract

The Oxford Happiness Inventory, the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire and a three-element churchmanship measure were completed by 202 male clergy and 60 female clergy. The findings show that both happiness and evangelical churchmanship are associated with stable extraversion. After controlling for personality variables evangelical Anglican clergy are seen to be less happy than their catholic counterparts.
