Abstract

Increasingly solicited as custodians of information, the library, archival and record management specialists cannot stick themselves to only storing archives anymore. They must be involved in the whole process of archives creation to ensure their sharing. Beyond conservation, documents must be valued through tailored dissemination, according to needs and contexts of users and occasional customers. The latter include the segment of the population with low education level and those who do not have archives department in their area. One of the tailored tools for communicating to them will be the iconographic archives exhibition. Exposing such archives allows number of peoples to come across unedited, unpublished photographic format documents. Indeed this method of exhibiting images and photographs combined with written documents has proved to be very efficient; especially for illiterates and peoples with low education level.
