Abstract

The article deals with the architectural and planning organization of a modern shelter for homeless animals (pets). A brief history of the emergence of shelters for animals is presented, as well as practical recommendations for planning, functional content, location and options for materials that can be used in the construction of such facilities are presented. The highlighted results of the conducted sociological survey make it possible to see which aspects of the shelter are important for future visitors and potential adopters, how many people are ready to take an animal from the shelter, as well as what should be paid attention to when designing a shelter for pets. The presented practical recommendations can help both when designing a new shelter for animals and when reorganizing an existing structure.
Animals and pets are living creatures that need a place to live. In many countries, special buildings are being built for animal shelters. When creating new projects of shelters, it is necessary to take into account many factors that affect animals and ensure their comfort. It is important not only to popularize among people the understanding that animals are living creatures that have their own needs and emotions, but also at the state level to encourage those who want to and prepare the ground for the creation of the latest shelters for animals that would at least partially satisfy such a great need for them.
And in order to build comfortable and multifunctional shelters for animals, a complex architectural approach to the design and construction of such facilities is necessary. Consider all aspects and needs of animals, staff and visitors. Use high-quality materials and functional design solutions that will make the shelter animals and staff work safer and more comfortable.
