Abstract

The type of showcase commonly used in archaeological museums consists of a wooden rectangular parauclepipedic base with a transparent glass cover. This enables visitors to view the exhibits from all sides. When illumination is provided by a light source placed within the wooden base together with reflectors on the four sides, there is a correlation between the height of the largest exhibit and the geometry of the showcase. It is possible to calculate the distribution of light on the exhibits.
