Abstract

AbstractThis chapter describes and explains some of the principal effects and mechanisms involved in arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi and plant symbiosis under environmental stresses. The spatial and temporal variations of AM fungi and plant symbiosis and the effects of soil water deficit and soil salinity on mycorrhizal symbiosis are discussed. Finally, the nutrient acquisition by mycorrhizal plants under stress is covered.
