Abstract

In this paper a novel arbitrary polarization beam synthesis along with the wide-angle beam scanning technology based on fully polarized antenna is proposed to improve the hemispherical-space arbitrary polarization beam coverage and wide-angle scanning capability of phased array antenna. The array consists of multiple fully polarized antenna elements operating at 2.35 GHz-2.45 GHz. The high elevation gain of the array element is higher than 6 dBi and the horizontal omnidirectional gain is higher than 0 dBi. The fully polarized antenna array is controlled by multi-port phase compensation and linear array synthesis. In this work, the synthesis of the arbitrary polarization beams in hemispherical space is verified by full-wave simulation, and the gain in horizontal plane is improved by more than 5 dB compared with that of the traditional dual polarization phased array antenna.
