Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to comment on an article previously published in Computer Languages and proposing an Arabic Text Formatter. Major errors are located in the design, each followed by a discussion and a suggested solution based upon a combined knowledge in computer and Arabic language. Next a linguistic view and a computer view are shown in two separate sections, the first one annotates missing points related to the Arabic language, and the second one explores a complete formatter implementation in Pascal language. A conclusion is drawn by indicating the result of applying the new version effectively.
