The Arab society of Paediatric Endocrinology and diabetes held a masterclass for paediatric bone diseases in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) in collaboration of Kyowa Kirin
Its aim is to ensure a high standard of care and development in the field of paediatric endocrinology and diabetes in the Arab region extending from the Gulf through the Northern African countries
On follow-up, while progression of fibrous dysplasia (FD) has been positively impacted with zoledronic acid in terms of lack of new lesions and improvement of bone mineral density (BMD), the main challenge identified with this patient was persistent elevation of FGF23 and phosphaturia, which may be the result of non-adherence to rickets treatment
