Abstract

Objective :The objectives of this study were to evaluate howmagnesium sulfate infusion effects the bleeding time in severe preeclampsia. MaterialMethod: 50 patients were admitted with a diagnosis of severe preeclampsia in between April 2002 -February 2003 were eligible for the study.We compared with bleeding time before and 4 hour after magnesium sulfate therapy. Results:Theie was astatisticallysignificant increase in bleeding time after magnesium sulfate infusion in preeclampsia.(Before treatment 1.190.40 min,after treatment 1.600.60 min p 0.005) Conclusion : The use of parenteral magnesium sulfate in preeclampsia prolonged the bleeding time.The antithrombocyte effeet of magnesium sulfate wul increase the success in treatment of preeclampsia.
