Abstract

Estimation of angles of arrival of multiple plane waves is important in many applications. These applications include direction finding, air navigation and location of a ship or a submarine using SONAR. The problem has attracted the attention of many researchers and new techniques have emerged. In this paper, we present AR and Eigenstructure methods that have been recently proposed for bearing estimation. An attempt has been made to bring all these algorithms under a common theoretical framework. Some computer simulation results are also presented to demonstrate the performance of these methods.
