Abstract
A simple environment-friendly system is attractive for synthesizing functional polymer materials, including glycopolymers. Herein, we successfully synthesized glycopolymers via an aqueous one-pot and open-air system combined with photoinduced electron/energy transfer-reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (PET-RAFT) polymerization using a novel water-soluble monomer having an activated ester, followed by modification with amine-containing saccharide derivatives in water at room temperature.
