Abstract
Hautzsch esters are prepared for the first time, by condensing alkyl β-aminoerotonate, aldehyde and alkyl acetoacetate in aqueous sodium butylmonoglycolsulphate (NaBMGS) as a safe reaction medium in an unmodified domestic microwave oven.
