Abstract

Developments in environmental legislation are creating demand for data which can be to classify oil products on the basis of the potential hazard they present to the aquatic environment. Current test method guidelines for determining the toxicity of substances to aquatic organisms are not generally applicable to oil products. Data which can be used for classifying oil products will, we believe, follow from preparing specific test media and from modifying testing procedures
