Abstract

The research we are presenting responds to a twofold purpose. On the one hand, we have studied the advertising regulation about online sports betting focusing on the protection of minors in Spain. On the other hand, we want to know the adolescent perception of online gambling, specifically in sports betting. Therefore, four groups of discussion have been conducted with advertising stimulus, with 35 adolescents aged between 13 and 17 years. This qualitative technique offers a detailed approximation to the experiences, beliefs and relationships between young people and gambling. Likewise, the review carried out on the current legislation, which regulates the communications of gambling in Spain for the protection of the minor, presents important deficiencies. All these deficiencies have been infringing the rights of children, especially in the mobile environment.
