Abstract
The article discusses studies of the rhetoric of the Colombian armed conflict, which pose research problems regarding the persuasive nature of the discourse of conflict from the perspective of different disciplines. Bibliographical consultation was supplemented with a self-administered electronic survey sent to Colombian researchers working in discourse analysis. On the basis of the results, the article explains the main issues arising from the review and presents them as rhetorical approaches, which the authors develop with a greater orientation toward ethos, pathos or logos. By establishing relationships among these studies, it is possible to clarify the trends prevailing in research on violence from the perspective of discourse and highlights their contributions to the study of the armed conflict.
