Abstract

The Metric Information Studies (EMI) provide essential tools for understanding the behavior of scientific domains, given the possibility of evaluation through methodologies and indicators that can identify trends and implement improvements. Theoretical and bibliometric approach to the field of communication is presented, from the characterization and evaluation of the scientific community practices through bibliometric indicators. Indicators of scientific production and productivity of authors, institutions, countries and keywords, citation indicators from the network of cited documents and relational indicators in the co-occurrence descriptors and authors are obtained.
