Abstract
Guava (Psidium guajava L.) seeds extracts were obtained by supercritical CO2. Supercritical fluid extractions were conducted at pressures of 17, 20, 24 and 31 MPa and 40 °C for a duration of 1 h. The best extraction pressure was 31 MPa (140.6 mg/100 g). This extract was derivatized by methylation, reaction products were analyzed by gas chromatography- mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Methyl esters of palmitic, estearic and linoleic acids were identified. Linoleic acid methyl ester was the major compound identified.
